Beware of Fake Bank Advisor Fraud

fraude conseiller bancaire

In light of increasing fraud attempts, we want to inform you about a growing scam technique: fake bank advisor fraud. Within minutes, these scammers can compromise the security of your bank accounts. Here is everything you need to know to protect yourself.

How does this scam work?

Fraudsters pose as advisors from your bank using the following methods:

  • Phone calls: They contact you pretending to be your bank advisor or a member of the bank’s security department.
  • Emails or SMS: They send fraudulent messages with urgent excuses (such as suspicious activity on your account).

Their goal is to gain your trust in order to obtain sensitive information such as:

  • Your banking credentials (login codes, passwords).
  • Your bank card numbers.
  • Validation codes for your transactions.

How to recognize a fraud attempt?

Here are some warning signs to watch for:

  • A pressing or alarming tone: The fraudster insists on the urgency to act immediately.
  • A request for confidential information: No employee of Banque Delubac & Cie will ever ask you to provide your codes or passwords over the phone, by email, or by SMS.
  • An unexpected call or message: If you have not requested assistance, be cautious of any unusual communication.

Our tips to avoid the scam

  • Never share your sensitive information: Your account access codes and transaction validation codes are strictly personal.
  • Verify the identity of the caller: If you receive a suspicious call, hang up and contact your account manager directly using an official number.
  • Do not click on suspicious links: Fraudulent emails or SMS messages may contain links to sites that mimic your bank’s website.
  • Enable security alerts: Set up notifications on your banking app to monitor activities on your accounts.

In case of doubt or incident

If you believe you have been a victim of a fraud attempt:

  • Contact your advisor immediately or send an email to alertesecurite@delubac.fr to report the incident and block any fraudulent transactions.
  • Change your banking credentials: Update your passwords from a secure device.
  • File a complaint: Visit a police station or gendarmerie to report the scam.

The security of your accounts is our priority. By following these tips and staying vigilant, you will help counter fraud attempts.
